THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE EQUINE ASSISTED COACH

What is equine assisted coaching?

Horse-assisted coaching uses the horse’s abilities to create or accompany important, sustainable and beautiful changes in people. Horse-assisted coaching is used by people who, for example, want to tackle a private or professional change, who have the urge to develop further and gain more awareness. They are people who feel that being accompanied in nature and with a horse provides valuable support in their own process and are open to trying out new forms of coaching.

Companies, institutions and NGOs that want to turn their employees into a strong team also benefit from horse-assisted coaching.

What tools does AHAA Manufaktur work with?

The knowledge imparted is based on classic, tried-and-tested coaching methods and sound equine knowledge. This foundation is supplemented by the AHAA method, which enables a structured approach with the horse as coach and thus provides the client with optimal and sustainable benefits. By using carefully developed tools, the coach can fully engage with the client and guide them safely and empathetically through the process.

Why should I do the apprenticeship at AHAA – Manufaktur?

The AHAA – Manufaktur trains people who are entitled to tried and tested knowledge and experienced instructors. In German-speaking countries, we offer successful and sustainable training to become an Equine Assisted Coach, with great emphasis on individuality. The aim is to combine knowledge and experience with the learning content so that each individual can benefit from this training in their own way. The training lasts 5 modules and consists of practical and theoretical lessons and days on site or via the AHAA learning platform, practice with the horses, lessons on site, exercises and regular exchanges. Graduates have the choice between a face-to-face and a hybrid course.

Is the degree recognized?

Yes, with the Swiss Association of Equine Assisted Coaching. Upon successful certification, all graduates receive a certificate from AHAA-Manufaktur and a certificate from the Swiss Association of Equine Assisted Coaching.

The training is also recognized as Basic Training Coaching I.

What happens if I can’t come on individual training days? Can I still do the training?

Of course, you can still do the training. In hybrid training, the practical days can be freely chosen. Individual days can be postponed for classroom training.

Who is the training suitable for?

The training is suitable for anyone who enjoys people and horses. Anyone who would like to use this joy to develop MORE in others, to bring people forward, to forge strong teams, to grow themselves, to discover unexpected abilities of the horse, should do this training.

What will become of the graduates of AHAA – Manufaktur?

Some of our graduates build up their own coaching business after the training. Others integrate the skills they have learned into an existing portfolio (e.g. riding therapists, animal welfare practitioners, riding instructors, horse trainers, etc.) and thus add affordable skills to their range of services. Others use what they have learned in the family, at work, in team management or simply for themselves. During the training to become an Equine Assisted Coach at AHAA – Manufaktur, everyone grows beyond themselves. That alone can be a reason to get started!

Can my horse do that?

Yes, because every horse can do it. Every horse can do this from birth and doesn’t need to learn anything to become a good co-coach. As we bring the horse into interaction with humans, it is best if the horse is used to people and is social, i.e. it is better not to hit or bite.

Do I need my own horse for this?

No. Basically, any horse is suitable as a coach, as long as it is socialized and does not show any rough behavior with people. Experience has shown that owners are very willing to lend their horses for this work, as it develops the horse’s personality.

Can I earn money with it?

Yes, our training does not create illusions or blind dreamers. We impart profound coaching knowledge. Our graduates learn impressive tools of the trade and have often practiced them in practice at the end of the training. They know what they are doing. We do not recommend anyone to quit their job in order to make a living from coaching. Like any other business, this activity needs to be carefully planned and built up. This takes time. We support our graduates in our further training programs to build up the idea of their own offer in a sustainable way and to work on it continuously.

Can I “try out” the training?

Yes, come to one of our information events. These are held directly on site.

Can I take my dog with me?

Yes, you are welcome to do that. You can either leave him in the car in our parking lot and use the breaks to go for a walk in the forest or take him with you to training. Of course, it’s nice if he feels comfortable around people and is perhaps also compatible with other dogs. We always find a solution for this.

Can I take my horse with me?

Yes, we offer this possibility. Your horse is very welcome. If your horse stays with us for two days, it will receive a certificate as a co-coach. If you are interested in bringing your horse with you, please contact us.

What opportunities do I have after my training?

We will continue to support you after your training and offer you various opportunities. You also have the opportunity to take part in the practical days at a reduced rate and thus deepen your own practical experience again and again, exchange ideas, get new input and clarify open questions.
